The Pilgrim Blanket Chest
The Pilgrim Blanket Chest was intended to reach even more woodworkers, "I love this project because it looks so much more complicated than it is." This is a great project to help you master good machining techniques and table saw work including dados, stop dados, raised panels, cutting stiles and rails, and top and bottom panels. It also includes some router table work to make the beads and stop chamfers around the panels. This piece also includes some great relief carvings that will involve some steady hand router work along with some pretty good hand skills involving carving chisels. This project is just a big lesson on frame and panel construction. Don't let it intimidate you! It is so much easier than it looks. "I know if you follow the list, and video, and use The 207 Forum to your advantage, there is no reason you couldn't build this project...trust me...you CAN do this."
